Robert M. French enlisted March 15, 1862 at Winterham for three years. He was absent sick May to Oct, 1862, January to February 1863, and April to May 1863. French was captured May 12, 1864 at Spotsylvania Court House and was sent on May 20, 1864 from Belle Plain to Ft. Delaware. He was released on oath June 20, 1865.
